We collect and analyse our data using academic-level methodology, and are committed to publishing our research in peer-reviewed journals or at industry conferences, to ensure maximal exposure. This ensures our results are independently scrutinised and validated by the community.

To date, we have published 2 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 18 conference abstracts/posters/presentations.

1. Study 18-014-P-P USA – Tonisity Px – Finishing Weight by Birthweight Category

Objective: To assess the effects of Tonisity Px on pre-weaning mortality and weight gain from birth to finishing

• Number of pigs: 2,193
• Pre-weaning mortality: 22.8% reduction = 32 extra piglets weaned per 1,000 piglets born
• Finishing weight: +3.1 kg, regardless of whether pigs started off as small (<1kg), medium (1-1.6 kg), or heavy (>1.6 kg) at birth
• Return on investment: 3.2:1 at weaning, based on pre-weaning mortality, and 5.9:1 at finish, when the benefits on growth were included

2. Study 24-019-P-P Brazil – Tonisity Px – Birth-to-Finish Comparison vs. Competitor 

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of administering Tonisity Px in comparison to a Control group and a Competitor A, focusing on weight gain from birth to finishing, the proportion of fall-behinds, mortality and pre-weaning diarrhoea.

3.  Study 17-031-P-R Poland – Tonisity Px – Fewer Days to Market 

Objective: To assess the effects of Tonisity Px on birth-finishing growth, finishing feed conversion, and days to finishing

• Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR): 1.8% better feed conversion
• Finishing Average Daily Gain: +28 g/day (2.9%)
• Days to finish: 7 days earlier
  

4. Study 16-003-P-R and 16-009-P-R Spain – Tonisity Px – Intestinal Histology Pre- and Post-Weaning (5-9 days post-weaning)

Objective: To assess the effects of Tonisity Px on villus height pre-weaning 

• Number of pigs: 36 pigs pre-weaning and 24 pigs post-weaning
• Villus height pre-weaning: +8% taller villi pre-weaning and 16% taller villi post-weaning
• Taller villi translate into better nutrient absorption, less inflammation, better immunity, better growth

5. Study 18-020-P-R USA – Tonisity Px – Microbiome – Pre-Weaning

Objective: To assess the effects of Tonisity Px on the intestinal microbiome

• Number of pigs: 70 pigs
• Lactobacillus: +3.3x more Lactobacillus at day 9 of life
• E. coli: 50% lower E. coli incidence pre-weaning
• More lactobacilli and fewer E. coli indicate a more “beneficial” intestinal microbiome profile, translating into better growth and better overall gut function
  

6.Study 22-045-P-R – Ukraine – Tonisity Px – PED Support 

Objective: To assess the effects of Tonisity Px on intestinal health indicators during a PED challenge

• In piglets challenged with Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea virus, Tonisity Px
  • Enhanced intestinal structural integrity

Objective: To assess the effects of Tonisity Px on pre- weaning mortality vs a Control group and on nursery mortality vs a competitor electrolyte on a farm affected by PRRS

8. Study 20-047-P-P USA – Tonisity PxW vs. Competitor – Growth Performance in a Gilt Multiplier Farm

Objective: To evaluate the impact of administering Tonisity PxW as a waterline delivered solution vs a competitor electrolyte for five days post-weaning on nursery mortality, weight gain and fall-behinds rate

• Water Intake: 22% higher on day one post-weaning, 9% higher over 5 days post-weaning
• End-Nursery Weight: +300 g 
• Nursery Fall-Behinds: 65% reduction; production benefit → +13 extra full-value pigs per 1000 weaned

9. Meta-Analysis 2020.06-TON-META-PXW – USA – Tonisity PxW – Water Intake

Objective: This meta-analysis consolidates data from multiple studies that evaluated the impact of Tonisity PxW as a waterline delivered solution on water intake, nursery mortality and nursery fall-behinds

Objective: This study evaluated the impact of Tonisity PxM as a milk replacer enhancer on pre-weaning mortality and weaning weights
